Section 8
Per diem and travel expenses

(1) The chief justice or judge shall receive per diem and travel expenses according to the prevailing law regarding travel expenses when visiting Nepal in connection with government work.

(2) Daily and travel expenses according to the prevailing law regarding travel expenses, if one has to make arrangements for food and accommodation while visiting a foreign country, the United Nations or its specialized agency or the invitation of the South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) or in accordance with the decision of the Government of Nepal. will get.
(3) When the Chief Justice or a judge visits a foreign country or the United Nations or its specialized agency or the South Asian Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) on the invitation of such country or organization to stay as a guest only, for the period of stay in such country as per sub-section (2) Half of the amount to be received will be received as daily and visiting allowance.

(4) When the Chief Justice or Judge goes on a foreign visit as per sub-section (2) or (3), hospitality will be arranged by the host organization or the related foreign country. If provided and pocket expenses are not paid, only one quarter of the amount to be received as per sub-section (2) will be received for pocket expenses. However, if the organizing organization or the related foreign country provides daily and visiting allowance while visiting a foreign country, the daily and visiting allowance or pocket expenses according to this section will not be provided. On the recommendation of the Supreme Court, the Government of Nepal shall make necessary arrangements for the judges and justices to travel abroad for the purpose of administration of justice and the expenses incurred for the same shall be provided by the Government of Nepal. The Chief Justice and Judges will not visit foreign countries at the invitation of non-governmental organizations.
